The Best Of Times

It’s Sunday night and there are two spikey-haired babies sleeping on my couch. I can’t believe they are ours.

For some reason, the doctors decided that it was ok for me to be discharged today, if I wanted. Nicole and I discussed it and agreed: Recuperation is going to be hard, but I am happier doing it at home. So here we are, back at home, with two beautiful baby girls.

Thank you all for your well wishes! I feel like so many have gone on this journey with me. There’s a bit more to it, with a few twists and turns at the end, which I will write about tomorrow. But before I get into the gory details, I wanted to touch base and post a few pictures. Much more to come tomorrow!

Pictured above are Madeline and Avery and Nicole and I with both. They look so much like Nicole and nothing like me!

Wow, gorgeous babies, gorgeous family. Welcome home - get some sleep if possible and tomorrow you will awake with two amazing little beings in your life -- here forever. You two have done such a great job already and we can't wait to follow them as they grow. Congrats on everything and a belated happy mother's day to you both.

EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHH !!
LOVE the pictures. Thank you so much for posting.
You did A FANTASTIC job. Seriously.
You look great. The babies are BEAUTIFUL ! Look at all of that dark hair.
So many of our friends have babies who come out looking like the non laboring mom. It's a little spooky. 2 out of 3 of mine look like my wife. hmmmph I say !
Our babies were born the same gestational day and weighed almost exactly the same. Weird !

Any ways.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jennifers family !!!

holy crap! you've been a busy girl, giving birth and all. my god you DID have a lot of baby in there. unbelievable! so glad to hear that your daughters arrived. great names! cant wait to hear the details. thank god your unwelcome appendage has been removed. the babies are just gorgeous. cant friggin imagine having two of them. just in case they are giving you a hard time sleeping in their cribs or wherever, swaddle them up really well, double if need be, then put them inthe little foam psotioners or rolled up blankets, one on each side, and put their heads up against the bumper. it totally got LS off my chest and into her basket. thank god. good luck.

I don't know if I've told you yet how incredibly happy I am for you. Even though I've been a little MIA I've checked your blog at least once daily over the past couple of weeks in order to stay caught up on you.

Your girls are BEAUTIFUL!!! And I LOVE their names. I can't wait to hear the birth story and how you're doing having them home already. I know we're tired but it's so worth it.

Again, congratulations to both you and Nicole. I'm beyond happy for you. All that worrying and everything turned out wonderfully.

wow, i just found your blog as a link to another I read. I just gave birth to my twins (b/g) on St. Patty's day. but the really weird coincidence which is why I HAD to post is that I just had a thingy surgically removed from my left palm in the exact same place as yours on 5/30!! My doc doesn't know what it is yet though. I have to get the stitches out this week. It started to appear when I was in the hospital in January on bedrest for 3 weeks but it was just a purple circle which quickly became a purple bump.

now to the important thing...congratulations on the birth of your children. I went through a similar path to get my twins so I completely understand how absolutely precious they are. They are absolutely beautiful too :-)
do be aware of your hormones in the next few days. i seriously almost lost it around day 5. luckily only lasted a few days but it sure was scary!

OH I did mean to say GREAT JOB baking those babies. You did fabulously. :-)
